Biographical
Sketch
Rev.
Randolph C. West, Jr. is in his ninth year as the pastor of the
St. Stephen Missionary
Baptist Church. He is a native of Denver, Colorado and a child of God.
He is married to Janet West. They have been married for 35 years and are the
loving parents of two sons, Todd and Darrell. Rev. West received his
Master's Degree in Theology from the United Theological Seminary and is
planning to complete studies toward his Doctorate of Divinity Degree. He
also is the President of the Baptist Minister's Conference.
Rev. West has been a member of St. Stephen for 20 years. He served as
Deacon, Associate Minister, and Assistant Pastor. In December 18, 1991, Rev.
West was called to pastor the
St. Stephen Missionary
Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado. Under his leadership, he started the
St. Stephen Outreach Bus Ministry, the St. Stephen Youth Church, the 7:45
a.m. Worship Service, the Strength for the Journey Radio Ministry, and the
St. Stephen Mentor Program. He is deeply committed to the Lord's work. He
emphasizes the need to minister to the "Whole Man" in today's world.
His service also extends to the local, state, and national levels.
Locally, Rev. West is currently the Vice-president of the Baptist Minister's
Conference, and sits on the board of the Black Church Initiative. Rev. West
is the President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of the State
of Colorado. On the national level, he is the Chairman of the Million Dollar
Effort of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.
Pastor West
stresses that the most important thing in his life is his faith in Jesus
Christ. His favorite scripture is Romans 1:16 (KJV).
"For
I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to every
one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
